  • Cost: $30 (cash or credit card; 4% fee on card payments)


Requirements:

Both applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Appear together in person at the Fairfax County Courthouse

  • Bring:

    1. Confirmation document if the Online Pre-Application was completed

    2. $30 (cash, Visa, or MasterCard)

    3. Valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID)

    4. Social Security number (card not required)

    5. Full names of each parent, including full middle names and maiden names (as listed on birth certificates)


Ceremony Info:

  • Fairfax County does not offer Justice of the Peace services, meaning the court staff or judges are not available to perform marriage ceremonies at the courthouse.
